Background experience:
Romanian Film Promotion (APFR) is not a governmental body, still it is encouraged by National Center for Cinematography. APFR is the organizer of the already well-known Transilvania International Film Festival (TIFF), which takes place each end of May / beginning of June, in the old city of Cluj (Romania).
The 2006 edition of TIFF screened 150 films and reached an audience of more than 41.000, with 208 local and foreign journalists accredited as well as 392 Romanian and foreign guests.
Romanian Film Promotion (APFR) representatives attend many other international film festivals to keep in touch with and abreast of current productions and to establish and broaden contact with the festival programmers, press and distributors. One of the main objectives of the Romanian Film Promotion is organising Romanian booths at important film markets and festivals, doing market presentations and spreading information about current Romanian film activities.
Projects
Romanian Film Promotion developed a series of projects to support and promote the local film industry and the national cinematography. Over the last years we increased our visibility during various film industry events. APFR had its own booth at “The Production Show London” and organized presentations during the Berlinale and this year we had organised the first Romanian pavilion in the Village International at the Film Festival in Cannes.
